We learn a lot from the lives of those men: from Abraham the faith of sacrifices, from Job the faith of patience and Joseph the faith of God-keeping
promise. There are pro and con lessons we learn in Lot’s life. We learn the importance of his decision, his family and his hospitality.
I encouraged them to take these lessons to teach their people. Typhoon Ketsana had alerted Cambodians as historical storm and flood disaster in a few
provinces, including Siem Reab. Of course, we praise God that none of our churches affected by it. But we do pray for the suffering of the people in those
provinces whose livelihood, agricultural and homes have been destroyed. We pray that the Lord, in His mercy, would restore the people and miraculously
provide for all their needs. I hope that the lessons above will not only help people to trust in the Lord whatever happens to their lives but also to keep
their mind from going back to their old belief. It is easier for them to turn back to their traditional belief than to keep walking with the Lord.
It is hard to seek what is good to teach our church members, when this happens. However, a Christian church counsel, called Evangelical Fellowship of Cambodia (EFC), is raising fund to help those people in Christian voice. I had called our church leaders to have special offering that I will collect and be a part in it. May be this makes Christian voice to help them in time of trouble.
